2010 FLOOD MANAGEMENT TOUR
SJAFCA co-sponsored and
participated in a two-day levee tour May 12-13,
2010 presented by the
Water Education Foundation. The
tour which began and ended in Stockton focused
on the South Delta and Lower San Joaquin River.
Some of the levee tour stops included Bear
Creek, Paradise Cut, Jones Tract, and Smith
Canal. There were fifty-one participants and an
even greater attendance at the tour's dinner
held in the evening on May 12th at the Hilton in
Stockton. Tom Zuckerman, Chair of the University
of the Pacific's Board of Regents, spoke at the
dinner covering the relationship of flood issues
and water supply. Overall, a great turn out in
which SJAFCA was proud to co-sponsor!
